There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why... I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?
Robert Kennedy
OBJECTIVE
I am actively seeking a challenging position in a company, college or university that is dynamic and progressive, with growth-oriented positions where my previous customer service experience and people skills can be efficiently utilized to assist in corporate growth.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
WRITER AND RESEARCHER 2000 to 2011
Freelance
I research and write about World War II. This includes doing WWII veteran interviews and recordings, including with my dad. I searched for morning reports, Evacuation Hospital records & reconstructed WWI Veteran records, due to a fire at the National Military Personnel Archives. I find and reunite WWII veterans. I traveled to Europe to follow my father’s WWII route from England, France, Belgium, Germany and Czechoslovakia. Interviewing adults who were children in Europe during WWII is also an important part of my research.
REALTOR ESTATE AGENT 2003 to 2010
Edina Realty & Keller Williams Realty
This position required me to list properties, market properties, hold open houses, negotiate property price and compile paperwork for mortgage lenders. I also prepared sales contracts and addendums, MLS (Multiple Listing Service) entries, complete seller net sheets, and track termination of contracts and due dates. As a real estate agent, I was very knowledgeable about the neighborhoods of the city they work in so they can show clients the properties that best match the clients’ needs.
EDUCATOR 1991 to 2000
Minneapolis Community and Technical College, Minneapolis, MN
In this position, I was a Faculty member. I provided classroom instruction, program lead, and student advising & job placement. I also completely revamped a failing program, which allowed me to
work in Curriculum development. I was part of the Curriculum Committee and was appointed to the Strategic Planning Committee. I sat on the Faculty Development Committee as the chairperson.
